Remounting Oil Filter Housing

Oil filter housing mounting bushings tend to disintegrate over time and leave your housing hanging. Not a good thing, especially when trying to change the filter.

This is how I found the filter housing, unconnected and rattling around.

This is what the screws should actually look like with the rubber bushing. I purchased these at Baron BMW. $13.74 for the pair with the club discount.

Screw the short studded end of the bushing into the threaded holes on the receiving bracket.

Notice on the side of the oil filter housing there is a bracing stud that inserts into the receiver in the next photo

Now connect the top of the housing to the studded bushings and make sure the grounding strap is secured to one of the studs. Nuts were tightened snugly (no torque spec).
