The Proteco-Plate with this car is labeled as a "Replacement" on the cover of its cardboard jacket. Don't know why. I do know this POP is not formatted like most other POPs. Anybody know why?

Behold, the M21 Muncie close-ratio 4-speed transmission. Evil broker for noisy doings of the 350cid, 360hp small block just ahead. Sadly, this one is lost, 'cause it's casting number doesn't match '70 Z28 Bearing Retainer part numbers.

On a slightly brighter note, the Maincase cast part number is likely correct. 3925661 is the correct number, but the 3925660 is identical in every way. Given the early build date, this could be a left-over from 1969.

Here's why the Maincase part number might be correct: the stamped assembly information translates into a middle of December date - about right for April production.

Bringing up the cabosse of the M21 is the so-called Extension Housing. The part number is correct, although the late August assembly date is a little far out for the April production date. Then again, we're talking Fisher / Van Nuys...

Correct cast part number for the 3.73:1 limited slip diff that was standard on the Z28. For a few dollars more, you could order a 4.10:1 LSD
