I have a question about the pre-class car inspection. I am loathe to pay someone to look over my two cars when I am confident they are in excellent shape. I only have about 5200 miles on the M3 and about 11,000 miles on the 328xiT. If they had a lot more miles I wouldn't mind but this seems like a waste of money/time for me. I'm a decent shade tree mechanic. If I go over them in detail beforehand does that qualify? I don't mind getting out the jack and crawling under a car.

Have we heard anything about deals/packages at the Best Western or should I just go ahead and book a room now?

Thanks!

Details on the hotel will be out in the next day or so......

You can inspect the cars yourself, no problem there as long as you feel comfortable inspecting the car and making sure it is track ready. We suggest having a shop do it just because it never hurts to have a trained eye take a look at things. Baron BMW is offering free tech inspections. Contact their client care center at 913-722-6460 and let them know you are doing the BMW Club driving school at Hallett and need a tech inspection. They should be able to get you all ready to go.

All this info will be going out in an email soon - just finishing up some last minute details; sorry for the delay!

Hi Mike - great meeting you at the DE as well! Looking forward to another event and opportunity to get more involved with club. Plan to get the registration completed shortly.

Thanks again!

Still room for registration? After my first event at HPT this weekend, and a little friendly club peer pressure, currently planning to catch this event  Justin

Hey Justin!

Great meeting you this weekend!

Yes, there are still spots open at Hallett! Sign up now to get the early bird discount! We sold out last year. I anticipate another sellout.

Assuming you signed up for last weekend online, you have already set up a motorsportreg.com account. Just go back to motorsportreg.com and follow the instructions to sign up for our event.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Question on the tech inspection. Baron is going over my M3 and just called me. According to the Pre-Event Safety Inspection Report form the brake fluid has to be changed "semi-annually", meaning once every 6 months (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Semiannually). That surprised the techs at Baron as a bit often. Was that supposed to be biennially , meaning once every two years (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Biennially)? I went ahead and told them to change it ($124) so that I could pass the inspection. Fresh brake fluid in a one year old car with only 5400 miles...

no, that is correct. semi-annually is the recommended age of brake fluid for use on the track.

Finally registered! Assume caravan details will be firmed up as we get closer to the event?

Looking forward to it!

James Clay, Winning World Challenge Racer, owner of Bimmerworld, and one of our DE Sponsors, has move from the “will possibly be there”, to “will probably be there” list!!

Word has it he may take some Students and Instructors for rides……possibly in their cars if they like!!

I have ridden with James “at speed” at VIR. It was an awesome ride!

DO NOT WAIT. SIGN UP NOW!!!

I signed up even though I haven't even been able to fire the car up yet, haha

If I don't get done in time, I may just take the Infiniti instead... either way, I really want to get down to this track and $259 seemed like a good deal.

I can't wait to see the new beast on track, Jeff.

Sheridan. When you get in, give me a call. We'll be running somewhere for food and drink.
