The Wichita PCA autocross season is set to begin this Sunday, April 19. For anyone who is interested in participating, you must preregister for the event. Registration closes Friday night April 17. The fee for non-PCA members is $20. This is an outstanding value as you get 10 runs. They run the course one direction in the morning and will typically go the opposite direction in the afternoon.

Here is a link to the PCA page containing all the information that you will need. http://wic.pca.org/driving-events/regis ... autocross/

One thing to remember, PCA and SCCA share the facility for autocrossing. There is a family with small children that live there. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY and watch for the kids when arriving and departing. Both clubs enjoy a very good relationship with the land owner and we do not want to foul that up.

I hope to see you there and look forward to a great event.

For any KC members that are interested, the site is located in Yoder, which is SE of Hutchinson. There is a map to the location on the PCA web site.

The PCA event this past Sunday was a blast. The weather cooperated. It looked quite threatening during the final heat, but the rain held off and the first rain drops didn't fall until the PCA shed was packed and closed.

The turnout was a little on the light side as the threatening weather caused a number of cancellations. There were 16 drivers, so each heat had 8 drivers and moved along quickly. The course was very fast and you could hear numerous cars exercising their rev limiters. BMW was nicely represented, three cars (2 e46's and a very nice Z3M) with four drivers.

The next PCA event is scheduled for May 17. They open registration two weeks ahead of the event. For $20, it is hard to beat the value. You get 10 runs and they offer instruction if you desire. Anyone interested should head out and give it a try.
